Webcast #2: Taking the Next Step: Successfully Managing Your CF as an Adult
In this Genentech-sponsored webcast focused on adult CF care, Dr. Marcia Katz, Medical Director of the Baylor Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center and an associate professor of medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, along with CF patient Casey Flaherty, 25, and her mother, provided guidance and strategies to help CF patients and their family members manage the transition into adulthood successfully. The webcast explored important issues for CF teens and adults, including information on balancing life, work and school and establishing the best possible CF care routine.

Webcast #1: Creating a Road Map for Early CF Care Overview
In the first webcast, "Creating a Road Map for Early CF Care," Dr. Susanna McColley, Director, CF Center at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL, and associate professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, discussed best practices in CF care, including disease progression, care goals, and medication. Kelly Weber, and her son Jake Weber, age 8, who has CF, were on hand with Dr. McColley to share their stories and advice.
Indication Statement:
Daily administration of Pulmozyme in conjunction with standard therapies is indicated in the management of cystic fibrosis (CF) patients to improve pulmonary function. In patients with an FVC ≥ 40% of predicted, daily administration of Pulmozyme has also been shown to reduce the risk of respiratory tract infections requiring parenteral antibiotics. Safety and efficacy of daily administration have not been demonstrated in patients for longer than twelve months.
Important Safety Information:
Pulmozyme is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dornase alfa, Chinese Hamster Ovary cell products, or any component of the product. Pulmozyme should be used in conjunction with standard therapies for CF. The most common adverse events reported include voice alteration, pharyngitis, laryngitis, rash, chest pain, and conjunctivitis.
